Standard Tow

Last Thursday we had the chance to do some training with the F/v Miss Linda. Its a 78' fishing vessel that's being run by the Coast Guard Auxillary. Were towing it with our 52' Motor life boat also known as the Victory.

BM3 Strucic just earned his certification as 52' coxswain.

SOUTH TO NORTH

These are from a recent trip down to California.

These are some sheep I tried to photograph, they all ran away. Sheep(pronounced: shep) in Bandon are skiddish.
Port Orford, Oregon, has an interesting harbor.  The Boats are actually lowered by the cranes into the water each time they need to get underway. Its a pretty intense operation for such a  little town.
 A sunrise in Port Orford.
Fishermen
Seastacks, or rock outcroppings.
Basalt?
The clouds really made this photo in my opinion, if only the hill on the right was symetrical with the left.
                                          Sea cave we found.
EXPLOSION!!!!
geese with humbug mountain in the background.

A FLASH EVERY 10

Haceta head lighthouse, officially my favorite light on the coast.
 Seagull on a rock.
The cummins creek bridge. Its kind of cool.
And the light again, the house in the foreground use to hold the oil for the light. Now its all electric, and still an official aid to navigation. Yes, lighthouses are still used.
